Getting interviews · Lesson 1 of 8
Online applications feel productive, but most get little human attention. Large companies can get hundreds of applicants per role, and many are filtered by ATS first.
Don’t stop applying online. Stop treating it as your only strategy.
Candidates who also message a hiring manager, get a former colleague to flag their application, or follow up with someone at the company have very different odds than “submit and wait.”
Treat the online application as one input. Visibility, referrals, and direct outreach usually separate interviews from silence.
