  • Get clear on what you want before applying. Mass applying without a target wastes time and blocks tailored applications.

  • If you’re unsure, answer these three clarity questions (notebook or AI):

    1. Which past/current roles and skills did you enjoy most?
    2. What are you known for, when are you brought into projects or meetings?
    3. If money weren’t an issue, what one thing would you love to do more of?

  • Use those answers to define both the roles you want and the roles you should avoid.

  • Don’t assume job titles are consistent across industries.

    • Example: “client success manager” vs “account manager” for similar work.
    • Search job boards with your key skills to discover the titles companies actually use.

  • Write your target in 1 to 2 sentences covering role, company type, industry, and seniority.

    • Example: “mid level product manager in a SaaS tech scale up.”
