How to use Remote Rocketship to find roles

Summary

  • Start with job titles. Add a few related titles, go wide first, then narrow later.

    • Example: sales development plus business development (overlapping roles)
    • You can always remove titles later
  • Set your location. Remote usually does not mean work-from-anywhere, time zones and hiring restrictions still apply. Filter by state or country so you only see roles you can actually take.

  • Save your search and set email frequency (daily or hourly) so new matches come to you.

    • Saved searches auto-populate filters when you click them
    • Use separate saved searches for different target bands (e.g. entry level vs junior)
  • Stay flexible on seniority filters. For example, entry level plus junior can both be worth watching early in a career. Similarly, senior roles might also have flexibility.

  • Use more filters to cut noise:

    • Exclude industry (e.g. hide crypto)
    • Keyword include (e.g. B2B)
    • Hide keyword (e.g. B2C)
    • And there are many more filters to choose from
  • Believe in yourself and go for roles that feel a bit out of range. You don’t have to meet every requirement, jobs often have flexibility, so apply anyway.
