📋 Description

• Develop realistic and technically challenging drug discovery and development research problems • Design tasks requiring integration of incomplete, indirect, or potentially misleading scientific evidence • Establish defensible scientific conclusions supported by available evidence • Assemble structured data rooms using real, source-grounded scientific information • Ensure decisive values, observations, and experimental evidence are traceable to credible sources • Construct evidence chains leading to defensible conclusions and maintain scientific consistency • Develop problems involving structure-based medicinal chemistry, mechanistic enzymology, structure-guided peptide or antibody design, and fragment-based discovery • Evaluate molecular structure, binding, activity, selectivity, optimization, molecular interactions, mechanisms, kinetics, inhibition, binding evidence, structural interpretation, and compound development • Create detailed grading documents and objective criteria for research challenges • Run verification and calibration, identify shortcuts or ambiguities, evaluate task difficulty, and refine tasks • Serve as subject-matter authority for scientific and difficulty-related decisions • Review feedback, revise materials, defend scientific conclusions, and maintain rigorous standards across prompts, evidence packages, and grading materials

🎯 Requirements

• PhD or equivalent industry track record in medicinal chemistry, biochemistry, chemical biology, structural biology, pharmaceutical sciences, or a closely related discipline • Deep working expertise in at least one of: mechanistic enzymology; structure-guided peptide or antibody design; fragment-based drug discovery; structure-based medicinal chemistry • Strong experience interpreting complex experimental evidence within drug discovery research • Ability to construct scientific problems whose conclusions can be rigorously defended • Strong judgment when evaluating the quality of scientific reasoning rather than only final answers • Comfortable working with complex, incomplete, and potentially conflicting scientific information • Strong research, analytical, and technical writing skills • Able to work independently and take ownership of scientific task quality • Comfortable using browser-based research and development tools • Minimum commitment of 20 hours per week • Work must be completed without using confidential or proprietary information belonging to any employer, client, institution, or other third party • H1-B and STEM OPT support is unavailable for this engagement
