📋 Description

• Process and underwrite residential mortgage loans • Manage a pipeline of conventional, government, and/or portfolio loans • Process conventional, FHA, VA, Bond, USDA, special program, self-employed, and complex loan types • Evaluate loan documentation, calculate income, review assets, analyze liabilities, and clear conditions per delegated authority • Validate automated underwriting decisions • Communicate proactively with borrowers and loan originators regarding loan status • Ensure accurate, complete, and timely loan data in the processing system • Review pipeline reports and ensure tasks are completed • Serve as intermediary for loan issues with Loan Originators, Underwriters, and related departments • Train and mentor new hires • Act as an escalation point and team resource • Assist processing managers with coaching, escalations, and workload balancing • Maintain knowledge of Fifth Third Mortgage Company policies and procedures • Manage risk and follow applicable policies and procedures

🎯 Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required • Three (3) or more years of residential mortgage experience in processing required • In-depth knowledge of conventional, government, and portfolio underwriting guidelines • Knowledge of processing underwriting and closing procedures preferred • Knowledge of federal lending regulations governing residential real estate lending • Demonstrated organizational skills • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Demonstrated teamwork and customer service skills with a collaborative approach • Strong computer skills, including MS Office, required • Experience with mortgage origination systems, platforms, tools and technology preferred
