• Maximize opportunities for AbbVie’s anti-infective product portfolio within an assigned geography • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with hospitals, IDNs, academic institutions, outpatient accounts, long-term care facilities, government accounts, and specialty private practices • Increase patient access, develop new business, expand existing business, maximize resource utilization, and achieve geography sales goals • Advance hospital and specialty customers along the sales continuum and gain prescriber commitments • Deliver on-label presentations and sales calls highlighting product benefits and risks • Differentiate the Anti-Infective portfolio’s value proposition across account stakeholders • Problem-solve product and patient flow through specialty pharmacy, specialty distribution, and Buy and Bill channels • Coordinate stakeholders across departments around patient-focused solutions • Operate in a complex, matrixed, account-based selling environment • Partner with AbbVie field teams, Medical Science Liaisons, National Director of Accounts, Key Account Directors, and in-house teams • Create, execute, and monitor strategic geography business plans • Determine account department, channel, healthcare-provider focus, and contact frequency • Align resources to support tactic execution and adjust plans as needed • Source, interpret, and use account data to maintain account profiles and relationship maps • Target key stakeholders and decision-makers to expand physician usage and the customer base • Attend and participate in local boards, societies, conventions, and healthcare-provider meetings • Represent AbbVie and assigned products at industry venues and build relationships • Communicate key information, developments, and findings to internal stakeholders • Complete required AbbVie training and comply with company policies and OEC/Legal procedures • Meet healthcare-industry representative credentialing requirements for facility access • Collaborate across healthcare-institution departments and organizations to develop compliant communication strategies and account processes • Travel approximately 20% of the time
• Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or a business-related field preferred, or relevant equivalent industry experience • At least five (5) years of relevant and equivalent industry experience required in lieu of a bachelor’s degree, including three (3) or more years within the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred • High school diploma/GED required • Account-based selling experience with hospitals, wound care centers, or infusion centers • Experience building advocacy in hospitals for acute products • Experience navigating matrix environments and complex customers such as IDNs, academic institutions, hospitals, and outpatient accounts • Knowledge of formulary approval processes and driving formulary approvals • Experience with Buy and Bill and specialty pharmacy products preferred • Documented history of strong sales performance • Advanced sales skills and ability to communicate novel or complex products and processes • Strong business acumen, analytical ability, planning, organization, presentation, facilitation, and problem-resolution skills • Ability to analyze diverse data sets using multiple tools and define account/program strategies • Ability to learn procedural, technical, and clinical information quickly • Ability to understand, articulate, and present complex scientific information to varied audiences • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple accounts • Ability to cover the assigned geography • Ability to drive a personal auto or company car/truck or powered material-handling equipment • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet safe driving requirements • Must satisfy applicable HCIR credentialing requirements and be in good standing or eligible to obtain them, including possible background checks, drug screens, immunization/vaccination proof, fingerprinting, and specific state or city licenses
