📋 Description

• Perform annual nondiscrimination and compliance testing, including ADP/ACP, 410(b), 401(a)(4), 414(s), and top-heavy testing • Monitor 402(g), 415, and 404 limits • Calculate employer contributions using pro rata, integrated, and new comparability formulas • Determine compensation for testing and contribution purposes, including self-employed income calculations • Determine correction methods for failed tests and calculate refunds, QNECs, and QMACs • Monitor compliance deadlines and annual-cycle deliverables • Review census and payroll data and resolve discrepancies • Reconcile contribution discrepancies and recordkeeper asset statements • Maintain internal databases, client records, and task management systems • Escalate systemic data issues to the Plan Administration Lead • Prepare and review Forms 5500, 5558, 5330, and 8955-SSA • Prepare complex-plan filings and support responses to auditor questions • Support IRS and DOL examinations, correspondence, and client-initiated audits • Identify compliance issues, operational and demographic failures, missed amendments, and late contributions • Prepare documentation and calculations for VCP, DFVCP, and VFCP submissions • Execute and document corrections according to Aboon's methodology and guidelines • Partner with 3(16) Services to resolve payroll issues and process corrective contributions • Manage plan terminations and specialized reporting • Support plan mergers, acquisitions, and takeovers, including coverage testing and prior-year data transitions • Draft and review client communications • Serve as a compliance expert for Relationship Managers, plan sponsors, financial advisors, and independent auditors • Manage service requests and recordkeeper communications • Research and resolve advanced plan design and regulatory questions • Translate technical compliance results into actionable guidance • Conduct peer reviews of technical work, correspondence, and reporting • Coach and train Plan Administrators • Contribute to process improvements, procedures, training materials, AI adoption, and automation • Provide backup support for the Plan Administration Lead and escalations

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years of defined contribution plan administration experience with a heavy compliance focus • Deep working knowledge of ERISA Title I and Internal Revenue Code Sections 401(a), 401(k), 401(m), 410(b), 414(s), 415, and 416 • Hands-on experience with advanced nondiscrimination testing techniques • Experience preparing and reviewing Forms 5500, 5330, and 8955-SSA • Ability to apply testing rules and plan document provisions across varying plan designs • Advanced Excel skills, including troubleshooting data discrepancies and reconciling census information • Strong written and verbal communication, including explaining technical results to non-technical audiences • Proficiency with ftwilliam, Google Workspace, and task and project management software • Work authorization in the United States required • No visa sponsorship • Completion of a 401(k)-specific Excel assessment during the hiring process • Experience with DOL correction programs and submissions (nice to have) • Familiarity with ftwilliam and servicing modules of major recordkeeping platforms (nice to have) • Hands-on experience with ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, or similar AI tools (nice to have) • ASPPA QKA, NIPA APA, QKC, QPA, or CPC certification/designation (nice to have)
