📋 Description

• Provide senior operational and administrative leadership for the virtual school • Implement the school’s academic vision and advance student success • Oversee daily school operations and lead the school leadership team • Collaborate with the Head of School and School Board on vision, mission, decisions, and policies • Lead implementation of the School Improvement Plan and Turnaround Plan • Use student performance data and instructional evidence to identify underperformance, monitor progress, and adjust strategies • Coordinate with school leadership, governing board, authorizing district, and state personnel on turnaround commitments • Lead targeted strategies and supports for students at risk of academic failure • Strengthen instructional quality through coaching, professional learning, feedback, and monitoring • Ensure implementation of the instructional model, curriculum, resources, assessments, and targeted instruction • Oversee career pathway and postsecondary opportunity programs • Collaborate with industry and higher education partners • Navigate regulatory requirements and ensure compliance with applicable laws and authorizing agency requirements • Develop educational program plans and policies and oversee implementation • Collaborate on school budgeting, marketing, and enrollment plans • Serve as a public relations liaison with the school community • Recruit, hire, retain, evaluate, and develop staff • Build positive school culture with staff, students, families, and community leaders • Maintain school census, attendance, and required reporting data • Coordinate audit responses, security procedures, emergency plans, and technology efforts • Monitor school accountability and report card measures • Maintain parent and student manuals, policies, and handbooks • Communicate the school mission and vision and solicit family input • Coordinate special projects, peer mentoring, service learning, community involvement, and student orientation programs

🎯 Requirements

• Master’s degree in education or a closely related field, or educational administrative experience • Current administrative and teaching licenses required • At least 10 years of experience in education, including at least five years as a K–12 administrator • Demonstrated record of successfully leading school turnaround in a low-performing K–12 school, with documented, measurable improvement in student achievement and learning gains • Experience serving students at risk of academic failure and/or leading in an alternative education setting • Experience implementing and monitoring school improvement or turnaround plans • Ability to provide specific evidence of turnaround results • Three or more years of experience working in an online school in an instructional role • Fundamental understanding of Career and Technical Education (CTE) • Three or more years of experience with CTE, including creating and maintaining external partnerships • Experience with research-based instructional practices for project-based learning • Knowledge of applicable state academic standards, including Florida’s B.E.S.T. Standards • Knowledge of state school accountability and report card components • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Ability to work effectively under pressure, prioritize competing responsibilities, and meet deadlines • Ability to manage confidential information appropriately • Knowledge of effective instructional strategies, including differentiated instruction and targeted interventions • Experience with online learning and relevant educational research • Understanding of distance learning methodology, implementation, and measurement of effectiveness • Understanding of employee evaluation in a corporate or nonprofit setting • Strong relationship-building and community engagement skills • Deep knowledge of curriculum development and program design • Record of success in managing nonprofit or for-profit operations • Record of success in building community partnerships and fundraising • Entrepreneurial initiative and commitment to continuous improvement • Knowledge of school and nonprofit management • Ability to pass state and federal background checks
