• Cultivate a caring, supportive, and inclusive school community • Understand and address the impact of trauma, equity, inclusive practices, and restorative practices • Provide coaching and professional development in classroom management strategies • Collaborate with staff and families to improve student behavior, attendance, and engagement • Engage families, community members, business/industry, postsecondary institutions, and community organizations • Implement behavior management practices using strong relationships and positive reinforcement • Communicate the school's mission and vision and solicit community input • Formulate and administer a comprehensive Career and Technical Education program • Coordinate career development services and student transitions to postsecondary education and employment • Develop, implement, and lead instructional programs; assess curriculum, pedagogy, lesson plans, and classroom instruction • Share responsibility for academic achievement and social-emotional well-being • Plan and facilitate teacher professional development • Coordinate in-service days, parent-teacher conferences, and extended learning opportunities • Ensure MTSS/RTI processes are followed with fidelity • Coordinate and oversee summer educational opportunities • Partner with Human Resources on recruiting, selecting, hiring, retaining, recognizing, and supporting school staff • Ensure nondiscrimination practices and EEO compliance in staff selection • Collaborate on state, charter authorizer, federal, sponsor, and charter renewal reporting requirements • Address compliance items related to the school's Sponsor Agreement • Support state-required testing, including in-person testing • Update parent and student manuals, policies, and handbooks • Stay current on state policies, procedures, and legislation • Handle student problems escalated by parents and teachers • Travel 15%
• Current valid Principal and Teacher license in the state of Ohio • Bachelor’s degree in education or related discipline • Successful completion of federal and state criminal background checks • Knowledge of state academic content standards • Minimum seven years of experience in education or related field • Two or more years of experience in successful school administration/instructional leadership • Demonstrated skill in developing and maintaining a rigorous academic program that meets the needs of all students • Experience in public education accountability, compliance, and related legal requirements • Demonstrated ability to create inclusive environments that honor and support a diversity of backgrounds and perspectives • Understanding of and ability to manage confidential information • Knowledge of/experience with innovative school designs and instructional models, including blended, inquiry, problem/project based and personalized learning • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills • Ohio residency preferred • Advanced degree in education/educational leadership strongly preferred
