📋 Description

• Find and gather information to pitch timely, weather-related story ideas for AccuWeather.com • Write multiple digital stories per month for publication on AccuWeather.com • Conduct source gathering and research to support accurate, compelling weather coverage • Use ChatGPT and other AI tools to edit content, test prompts, and optimize stories for digital platforms • Source and clear user-generated content for use in articles and on social platforms • Collaborate with editors, meteorologists, and the social team to align coverage across platforms

🎯 Requirements

• Pursuing a 4-year Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Meteorology or a related field that requires experience in writing and research • Strong writing, editing, and research skills with attention to accuracy and detail • Interest in weather, climate, and science-based storytelling • Basic understanding of SEO and digital publishing best practices is a plus • Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced newsroom environment • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Must be willing to work occasional evenings or weekends as needed
