• Oversight of design, build, development and cost control of tooling related to the injection molding process. • Interact with customers, injection molding department, internal mold shop, external suppliers, and sub-contractors. • Oversee, track, and coordinate tool design and build including program kickoff, engineering changes, repair jobs, and customer transfer molds. • Develops tool design concept with tool designers and other members of engineering and production team. • Lead cross-functional Design Review(s) to ensure customer and production requirements are satisfied. • Coordinate and establish accurate timelines and progress reports for tool build(s), sampling activities or other engineering activities. • Track and monitor engineering portion of mold tooling projects against quoted assumptions. • Liaison between internal departments including, but not limited to, Quality, Molding, Process Engineering, Tool Room, Shipping, and Scheduling. • Coordinates mold samples required to qualify new tools and the first article inspection. • Ensures mold qualification requirements and customers mold approval needs are met. • Communicates with customer and is the key interface between ADDMAN and customer. • Participates in Customer meetings pertaining to tooling programs. • Coordinates both corrective action and continuous improvement activities. • Provides engineering support of day-to-day production and operations needs. • Must be able to use CAD to review tool designs.
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology, Plastics Engineering Technology, or a related discipline • 1-3 years of relevant experience in injection mold design and build • 3D CAD Skills • SolidWorks is preferable • GD&T knowledge and ability to analyze and understand customer part prints • Ability to use statistical methods to analyze process capability • Computer Literate with experience using Microsoft Office software such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel as well as application specific software. • Must be able to communicate effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
• Exposure to manufacturing areas requiring personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toe shoes, and other mandatory safety equipment.
