• Prepare environmental remediation estimates using Sage Estimating Software and Microsoft Excel • Manage estimate preparation and support proposal teams in developing remediation technical approaches • Lead project team estimate reviews • Collaborate with project teams and management to develop strategies and plans • Analyze estimates to predict key project issues • Document assumptions for bid-process communication and work execution • Evaluate business opportunities and potential profitability • Apply financial analysis and calculate profitability metrics • Supervise junior staff and support talent development and staffing matters • Prepare or assist with ROIC and IRR forecasts • Work with subcontractors to resolve technical matters during proposals, negotiation, and contract execution • Prepare crew build-ups and production rate determinations • Determine construction equipment selection • Develop Work Breakdown Structures and estimate plans • Evaluate scope and execution plans as the basis of estimate • Prepare Bases of Estimate, qualifications, and bid tabulations • Collect, analyze, and archive project data • Develop historical documentation and compare estimates with prior performance and market benchmarks • Help prepare information for Executive Review Committee presentations • Travel up to 40% of the time to projects nationwide
• Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Administration in Business and 6+ years of estimator-related work experience, including environmental remediation, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education • Must pass a state and federal criminal history/security background check • U.S. citizenship required • Valid U.S. driver’s license required • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and Sage Estimating Software preferred • Ability to work independently and collaborate with others • Ability to travel nationwide • Experience preparing successful estimates for large (>$10M), firm fixed-price performance-based environmental remediation work highly desired • Proficiency with RACER cost estimating tool preferred • Understanding of estimating terminology, processes, and project actions • Understanding of construction means, methods, and sequences across multiple disciplines • Working knowledge of planning and scheduling • Understanding of company cost structure, including overheads, G&A, and insurance
