📋 Description

• Learn and apply company estimating systems, processes, and terminology • Perform environmental remediation estimates using Sage Estimating Software and Microsoft Excel • Manage estimate preparation and support proposal teams developing remediation technical approaches • Lead project team estimate reviews • Collaborate with project teams and management on strategies and plans • Analyze estimates to predict key project issues • Document assumptions for bid-process communication and work execution • Evaluate business opportunities and potential profitability • Apply financial analysis and calculate profitability metrics • Understand construction means, methods, and sequences across multiple disciplines • Supervise junior staff and develop talent • Assist with staffing issues and action-item tracking • Prepare or assist with ROIC and IRR forecasts • Work with subcontractors on technical matters during proposals, negotiations, and contract execution • Prepare crew build-ups and production-rate determinations • Determine construction equipment selection • Apply planning and scheduling knowledge • Develop Work Breakdown Structures • Evaluate scope and execution plans for the basis of estimate • Prepare Estimate Plans, Bases of Estimate, and qualifications • Prepare bid tabulations responding to customer and Request for Proposal requirements • Collect, analyze, and archive project data • Develop historical documentation and compare current estimates with prior performance and market benchmarks • Help prepare Executive Review Committee presentation materials

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Administration in Business and 6+ years of estimator-related work experience, including environmental remediation, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education • Must pass a State and Federal criminal history/security background check • US Citizenship required • Valid U.S. Driver’s License required • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel • Proficiency with Sage Estimating Software • Ability to work independently and collaborate with others • Ability to travel nationwide • Experience preparing successful estimates for competed, large (>$10M), firm fixed-price, performance-based environmental remediation work highly desired • Proficiency with RACER cost estimating tool preferred • Working knowledge of planning and scheduling • Understanding of construction means, methods, and sequences across multiple disciplines • Understanding of company cost structure, including overheads, G&A, and insurances • Knowledge of ROIC and IRR forecasts • Knowledge of crew build-ups, production rates, construction equipment selection, and Work Breakdown Structures
