📋 Description

• Provide field and lab support to cultural resource projects throughout the US • Perform archaeological fieldwork, laboratory analysis, and documentation • Perform pedestrian walkovers, shovel test pit excavation, test unit and feature excavation, mapping, and site documentation • Support Phase I, II, and III field and lab studies • Work under the direction of Crew Chiefs, Field Director, and Principal Investigator • Collaborate with technical field, lab, office, management, and administrative staff to meet AECOM quality standards • Support supervisors with graphic support, writing, travel coordination, project and paperwork organization, and field equipment preparation • Perform data entry, artifact labeling, and record copying for curation • Perform manual labor, including excavation with shovels and moving wheelbarrows filled with dirt • Build or repair field and laboratory equipment as needed

🎯 Requirements

• High School Diploma • Valid U.S. Driver’s License required • Must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review as a condition of employment • U.S. Citizenship required • Ability to perform basic field excavation techniques • Ability to process recovered archaeological artifacts (wash, catalog, and mark) • Ability to properly complete field and laboratory forms • Ability to perform bending, kneeling, standing, and lifting and carrying objects weighing 50 lbs. • Tolerance for outdoor environments, prolonged walking or standing, varied terrain, and a wide range of weather conditions • BA or BS in Archaeology, Anthropology, or related field or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education preferred • Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Global Positioning System (GPS), Total Station, Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop, and statistical analysis tools such as SAS or SPSS preferred • Completion of a university-based archaeological field school preferred • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Previous related internship experience preferred • No current or future sponsorship for U.S. employment authorization
