📋 Description

• Provide field and laboratory support for cultural resource projects throughout the United States • Perform archaeological fieldwork, laboratory analysis, and documentation • Conduct pedestrian walkovers, shovel test pit excavation, test unit and feature excavation, mapping, and site documentation • Support Phase I, II, and III field and laboratory studies • Work under the direction of Crew Chiefs, Field Director, and Principal Investigator • Collaborate with technical field, laboratory, office, management, and administrative staff to meet AECOM quality standards • Provide project-based support including graphic support, writing, travel coordination, paperwork organization, and field equipment preparation • Perform data entry, artifact labeling, and record copying for curation • Perform manual labor, including excavation with shovels and moving dirt-filled wheelbarrows • Build or repair field and laboratory equipment as needed

🎯 Requirements

• High School Diploma • Valid U.S. Driver’s License required • Must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review • U.S. Citizenship required • Ability to perform bending, kneeling, standing, lifting, and carrying objects weighing 50 lbs. • Tolerance for prolonged walking or standing on various terrain and in a wide range of weather conditions • Knowledge of basic field excavation techniques • Ability to process archaeological artifacts by washing, cataloging, and marking • Ability to properly complete field and laboratory forms • BA or BS in Archaeology, Anthropology, or related field, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education preferred • Experience with GIS, GPS, Total Station, Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop, and statistical analysis tools such as SAS or SPSS preferred • Completion of a university-based archaeological field school preferred • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Previous related internship experience preferred
