📋 Description

• Provide engineering support for HVDC terrestrial and submarine cable systems and converter stations • Support HVDC cable routing and converter station feasibility studies • Provide technical support during project permitting • Prepare conceptual-level engineering documents • Develop electrical engineering design schedules and budgets with the Project Engineer and Project Manager • Support clients with utility interface and technical coordination • Perform power system studies, including load flow, short circuit, protective coordination, and arc flash analysis • Develop and analyze PSCAD models • Prepare one-line and three-line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, BOMs, wire schedules, and interconnection diagrams • Witness testing of HVDC equipment and systems • Develop construction and equipment specifications • Support projects during construction, startup, and commissioning as needed • Perform grounding analysis and design • Review engineering work performed by peers • Attend client meetings • Promote AECOM capabilities while maintaining the existing client base • Provide specialized technical input and expertise for studies and design efforts • Present complex technical solutions to clients • Perform quality control reviews of work developed by others • Participate in technical proposal development • Provide estimates for engineering budgets and schedules

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering • Minimum 6 years of relevant HVAC and HVDC experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education • Experience in electrical power engineering coupled with some leadership experience • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering preferred • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Electrical Engineering preferred • 10+ years of relevant experience preferred, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education • Experience working with FACTS • Power systems analysis software experience, including ASPEN OneLiner, ETAP, SKM Power Tools, AcSELerator, or EnerVista • Familiarity with NEC, NESC, IEEE, and other industry codes and standards • Ability to lead engineering tasks with strong written and verbal communication skills • Experience on full EPC, Design/Build projects from start to finish • Plant startup and commissioning field experience • Owner’s Engineering experience • Experience working with remote teams • Sponsorship for US Employment Authorization is not available
