• Provide project leadership in instrumentation and controls engineering and design for multidisciplinary mining projects • Serve as lead I&C engineer or discipline lead on mid-size to large projects • Coordinate and direct staff on designs, specifications, drawings, figures, reports, and calculations • Develop instrumentation and controls engineering and design solutions for mining clients • Develop project proposals and support growth of the Mining practice • Direct and mentor technical staff • Write technical scopes of work and specifications • Design and check P&IDs, including instrumenting P&IDs and adding control and interlock notes • Prepare data sheets, architecture drawings, functional descriptions, instrument indexes, loop sheets, interconnection diagrams, instrument location plans, I/O lists, and cable schedules • Provide specialized technical input and expertise for studies and design efforts • Present complex technical solutions to clients • Perform independent technical reviews of engineering documentation and sign off on completed work • Develop equipment bid packages, analyze bids, manage purchase orders, and review vendor drawings • Serve as primary client point of contact and develop client relationships • Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate detailed phases of engineering projects • Advise clients on engineering matters, including compliance with government laws and regulations • Attend in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office as a condition of employment
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering + 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education • Valid U.S. Driver’s License • PE in Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, or Arizona, or ability to acquire a PE in those states • 10+ years of relevant on-site field experience in commissioning and start-ups for facilities • MSHA Miner training • Experience in I&C engineering, design, and construction tasks • HAZOP participation • Human factors reviews • SIL verification • Valve, flow element, and relief valve sizing • Control system architecture development • Control system I/O and instrument list development • Instrument and control element specifications and data sheets • DCS and PLC specifications • DCS and PLC wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and network diagrams • Control narrative, logic diagram, and functional control diagram development • Comprehension of electrical equipment designs and wiring, including switchgear, panelboards, MCCs, and VFDs • Interpretation of and input to P&IDs • Progressive project experience including task leadership and project management on design and design-build projects • Ability to lead designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, I&C specifications, and final working drawings • Experience working with CAD designers to produce construction-level drawings • Strong written and oral communication, quantitative, and people skills • Strong work ethic and professional demeanor • Initiative on assignments • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and complete multiple technical tasks under tight deadlines • Ability to estimate and define scope for I&C deliverables and project tasks • Ability to perform work within agreed scope, budget, and schedule • Ability to track and manage task budgets, schedules, and projects • Ability to author reports and prepare or direct detailed calculation packages with proper documentation and references • Resourceful, highly organized, professional, and detail-oriented • Willingness to travel to domestic and international project locations • Sponsorship will not be provided for this role
