đ Description
⢠Develop and design data center heat rejection and HVAC systems for air-cooled and direct-fluid-cooled applications ⢠Select appropriate air- and water-side cooling systems, including fan wall units, CRAHs, chilled water systems, DX systems, CRAC units, in-row cooling, and containment solutions ⢠Conduct internal CFD simulations to optimize airflow, analyze transient periods, identify hotspots, and improve cooling efficiency ⢠Conduct external CFD analyses for individual buildings and campuses ⢠Prepare or direct preparation of CFD models and analyze results to recommend design modifications ⢠Coordinate design changes and impacts with other project trades ⢠Design redundant and fault-tolerant HVAC systems, including backup cooling, automatic switchover, and monitoring systems ⢠Perform heat load calculations and capacity planning based on IT equipment, power density, growth, and project phasing ⢠Perform HVAC loads for administrative and common facility areas ⢠Implement energy-efficient HVAC strategies, including economizers, variable speed drives, energy recovery, and airflow optimization ⢠Design filtration and air-quality monitoring systems to protect sensitive IT equipment ⢠Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers to integrate HVAC with electrical infrastructure, UPS, emergency power, fire suppression, and other critical systems ⢠Work hands-on and client-facing on high-profile, fast-paced data center projects ⢠Collaborate with global AECOM teams on data center projects for global clients
đŻ Requirements
⢠Bachelor's Degree with 8+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education ⢠Experience in data center mechanical and electrical equipment installation and operation ⢠P.E. registration is required ⢠Ability to work remotely from a variety of locations in the United States where AECOM has an office ⢠Eligibility to work in the United States ⢠Knowledge of data center TER Standard Topology per Uptime Institute, TIA 942, and ANSI/BICSI 002 ⢠Preferred bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, HVAC engineering, or a related field from an accredited university ⢠Master's degree or advanced coursework in HVAC systems or energy management preferred ⢠CEM, BEMP, or LEED professional certifications advantageous
