📋 Description

• Lead or assist with the design of HVAC and plumbing systems for DoD and mission-critical facility projects • Perform construction administration services, including shop drawing and RFI reviews and evaluation of contractor proposed change orders • Evaluate alternative design approaches with senior team members • Conduct site and field visits to assess existing conditions and equipment • Organize and plan projects to meet quality controls, project criteria, and budget requirements • Prepare proposals and present them to clients • Mentor junior staff in the Mechanical Department • Review and edit specifications • Interact and work with diverse clients and subcontractors

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited Mechanical Engineering program • 6+ years of experience in mechanical design of HVAC and plumbing systems, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education • U.S. citizenship required due to federal contract/security requirements • Professional Engineer (PE) preferred • 10+ years of experience in mechanical design of HVAC and plumbing systems preferred • Experience using AutoCAD and Revit • Ability to work on a multidisciplinary team and manage multiple projects • Ability to present designs to clients • Proficiency in building load calculation and energy modeling • Proficiency in plumbing system design, including sanitary, storm, and water distribution systems • Federal experience with NAVFAC, USACE, VAMC, DOD, or USAF preferred • Additional industry certifications such as LEED AP, CxA, or CEM preferred
