• Lead and manage all civil work at substation and transmission line sites • Ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and construction schedules • Create and supervise earthwork, grading, drainage systems, access roads, cable trenches, and foundations • Review, interpret, and create civil design drawings and technical documents • Report discrepancies and provide practical solutions • Manage geotechnical and ground/LIDAR site surveys for transmission line routes and substation layouts • Review and approve civil construction methodologies, work plans, and contractor method statements • Identify and mitigate geotechnical, access, environmental, and constructability issues • Coordinate with electrical, protection, commissioning, planning, and project management teams • Interact with customer internal engineers and technical experts • Develop and maintain professional client relationships • Provide technical leadership to site civil engineers and inspectors; assign tasks, review work, and mentor team members • Check and review calculation specifications and calculation approval, revision, retention, and storage processes • Assist with task and effort estimates for proposal support • Support project commissioning and handover by ensuring site civil work is completed safely and to specification • Assist with planning and scheduling engineering tasks within the site civil discipline • Maintain positive working relationships with peers • Travel occasionally to other AECOM locations and client sites • Attend field walks and perform field measurements as necessary
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education • Proven experience with site grading, drainage, roads, earthworks, substation layout development, and transmission access/alignment • Proficiency in AutoCAD or MicroStation for civil design and detailing • Understanding of substation site planning, transmission/substation access requirements, and integration with electrical layouts • Professional Engineering license (P.E.) preferred • 10+ years of relevant site civil experience preferred, including at least three years as project technical lead and/or engineer of record • Strong knowledge of international civil and design standards, including IEC, BS, IEEE, and ANSI • Experience with construction supervision, site inspection, and commissioning support • Knowledge of hydrological analysis tools, stormwater modeling, or Civil 3D/BIM software • Experience in GIS or AIS substation developments • Familiarity with major utility or transmission operator standards • Experience working with remote teams • Experience on full EPC and Design/Build projects from start to finish • Owner’s Engineering experience • Experience with retrofit or brownfield projects • Exposure to supporting renewable generation projects • Self-motivated • Effective written and verbal communication skills • Able to participate in field walks, create field sketches, take dimensions, and climb ladders as necessary • Sponsorship for US Employment Authorization is not available for this position
