📋 Description

• Travel to CBP sites, including remote and austere locations • Install, refresh, repair, and turn up infrastructure and end-user equipment • Troubleshoot and resolve issues that remote support cannot fix • Verify installed equipment in actual use before leaving each site • Ensure site personnel can operate and describe the deployed equipment • Adapt deployment decisions to actual site conditions and escalate genuinely higher-level decisions • Arrive prepared with equipment and resources needed for each deployment • Create accurate as-built records reflecting deployed equipment and deviations from plans • Document site conditions that may affect future deployments • Record troubleshooting knowledge in a searchable location • Coordinate with network engineers, cloud and mobility teams, site leadership, officers, and agents • Deploy equipment without unnecessarily interrupting ongoing operations • Communicate deployment activities and timing to site leadership before arrival

🎯 Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship required • Active CBP Background Investigation (CBP BI) and EOD strongly preferred; candidates without one may begin CBP BI processing • Experience deploying or refreshing equipment at unfamiliar sites • Experience working independently in remote locations • Ability to assess and respond when site conditions differ from documentation • Experience working around operational schedules in facilities that cannot stop operations • Active CBP BI, a fitness determination at another DHS component, or an active DoD clearance preferred • Capability across networking hardware, end-user equipment, and cabling • Network+ or CCNA certifications useful but not required • Ability to travel extensively, up to 90–95% • Ability to handle equipment, work at height, and spend time in unconditioned spaces • Ability to work scheduled hours outside standard hours when required
