📋 Description

• Evaluate infrastructure readiness through technical site surveys for a critical US Military IT modernization program. • Document requirements for network and system upgrades. • Oversee installation of hardware and software solutions. • Install, route, and secure fiber optic cabling, racks, ironwork, patch panels, and cable management hardware according to TIA/EIA and DoW standards. • Perform fusion splicing, connector termination, and cable preparation for singlemode, multimode fiber, and copper cabling. • Determine DC power cable paths and perform wax cord lacing, HTAP, and equipment work. • Conduct, document, and analyze OTDR, power meter, and continuity tests to diagnose and repair fiber issues. • Adhere to security-level access, material-handling, and related protocols. • Interpret SOWs, site drawings, and infrastructure diagrams and maintain accurate network-route records. • Author and produce detailed Site Survey Reports (SSRs). • Mentor fellow technicians. • Interface directly with the Project Manager, PMO, and Government Points of Contact.

🎯 Requirements

• BA/BS with at least 5 years of experience. • Active Secret Clearance; Top Secret preferred. • Must be able to travel 90% of the time on deployments for both CONUS and potentially OCONUS locations. • One year to three years of experience involving the construction, maintenance, or repair of various types of networking or electronics equipment, or an equivalent combination of education from a related technical discipline for the required experience. • Proficiency in Telcordia standards, fiber optic splicing, and testing equipment. • Basic knowledge of communications installations. • Some experience with network devices, such as IP routers and optical/IP switches, and ability to install network devices per DoW and Industry Implementation Standards. • Verbal, written, and graphic communications skills and experience with customer service environments. • Proficiency with MS Office applications and Google documents/sheets/slides for reporting. • Previous experience with Outside Plant (OSP) fiber and fiber cabinets is highly desirable. • Experience with specific equipment manufacturers, such as Corning. • Familiarity with network security products. • Familiarity with Army installations. • Ability to climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift heavy equipment up to 50 lbs. • Active SECRET clearance required to start; TS preferred.
