📋 Description

• Assume the responsibilities of an electrical engineer performing design of LV, HV, EHV electrical power systems. • Collaborate with a team of engineers and drafters to support substation engineering design projects. • Provide engineering design and construction support for assigned projects. • Develop single-line switching and protection diagrams. • Develop three-line and DC schematic diagrams. • Maintain a bill of material. • Develop cable and conduit schedule, including sizing. • Conduct required calculations and create reports: AC and DC systems including sizing DC battery, overvoltage protection and coordination. • Develop control panel layouts and wiring diagrams; selecting protective devices and ratings. • Review and coordinate substation physical drawings and calculations. • Design underground MV and HV cabling systems including cable ampacity, installation details, etc. • Assure that all engineering documents and records are properly maintained. • Coordinate and guide designers/drafters, reviewing and approving electrical drawings. • Participate in the development of less experienced engineers and designers. • Provide engineering specifications and other information required by purchasing to procure equipment. • Review vendor submittals.

🎯 Requirements

• Associate of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering and/or Mechanical Engineering - required • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering and/or Electrical Power Engineering - preferred • Educational courses in power systems analysis, electrical machinery, etc. • Knowledge of NEC, ANSI, NEMA, IEEE and other applicable codes and standards. • Highly motivated and able to execute tasks provided adequate supervision. • Good written and verbal communications skills. • Ability to work well with others in a team setting. • Skilled in engineering theories and principles. • Skilled in practice of researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, making sound recommendations and preparing and presenting recommendations. • Skilled in problem-solving in time-sensitive situations. • Demonstrated experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook (basic) and AutoCAD (2015 or later - advanced).
