📋 Description

• Provide strategic legal counsel on product development, marketing, sales, and emerging technologies • Structure, draft, and negotiate commercial agreements involving advertising, marketing, and data service arrangements • Advise on legal risk management and evolving regulations concerning technology, commercial contracts, privacy, and consumer protection • Collaborate across business units, policy, compliance, and legal teams on enterprise-wide strategies • Anticipate legal issues and provide practical, innovative solutions • Conduct legal research and assess the impact of emerging laws and regulations on business activities • Support alignment between business goals and legal frameworks in regulated industries • Help shape emerging business models and opportunities • Collaborate across a distributed, virtual team • Partner with product teams on technologies, mobile applications, drive technologies, and novel corporate structures • Synthesize insights from legal experts into plain-language, business-focused guidance • Draft data licensing agreements and lead commercial deal negotiations • Lead compliance or risk mitigation plans with other departments • Counsel Allstate’s Arity mobility data and telematics business unit and its marketing solutions business

🎯 Requirements

• Juris Doctorate and active bar membership in good standing • Minimum of 7 years of legal experience • Expertise in one or more of: commercial law, privacy, advertising/marketing law, technology, artificial intelligence, or intellectual property • Experience working within a corporate parent company and across a family of affiliated entities • Experience advising in the advertising industry • Strong business acumen and ability to assess and communicate legal risk in a commercial context • Process-building skills and desire to drive efficiency • Strong leadership, collaboration, team development, mentoring, and strategic guidance capabilities • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Experience managing departmental or legal budgets • Solid project management skills and ability to prioritize and deliver across multiple workstreams • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant legal or business technology tools • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities • Demonstrated discretion and professionalism in handling sensitive and confidential information • Dedicated, private home workspace free from distractions with appropriate desk and seating • Reliable internet with minimum speeds of 50 MB download and 5 MB upload • Candidate must submit to a background investigation • Allstate generally does not sponsor individuals for employment-based visas for this position
