📋 Description

• Analyze and price construction projects ranging from $100K to $30M • Conduct construction estimating, budgeting, and bidding for assigned projects • Review construction plans and architectural and engineered drawing sets • Identify omitted items and account for the full project scope in estimate packages • Prepare conceptual estimates, competitive bids, budgets, and pricing analyses • Interact with architects, clients, subcontractors, business development, and operations staff • Solicit and maintain relationships with qualified subcontractors and material suppliers • Prepare competitive Lump Sum and Time and Material bids, including bid forms, pricing, and general conditions • Assist Project Managers with subcontractor and vendor bidding • Develop conceptual project schedules using subcontractor input and historical data • Maintain construction cost and unit-pricing databases • Maintain qualified subcontractor and vendor bidder databases • Track construction materials, pricing, trends, systems, procedures, software, management techniques, and code changes • Follow approved estimating practices and corporate guidelines • Prioritize tasks and meet assigned deadlines • Provide competitive intelligence and feedback to senior leadership • Identify opportunities through current and past clients • Attend client meetings, answer pricing questions, and resolve estimate-related issues • Provide change-order pricing, conduct site visits, deliver bids, and collaborate with teams • Prepare estimates for planning, scheduling, bidding, vendor selection, and cost-effectiveness decisions • Conduct studies to establish standard-hour and related cost data for cost reductions • Compare estimated and actual project costs and investigate discrepancies • Close out estimate packages and maintain archive files • Travel regionally up to three days at a time throughout the Northeastern, Mid-Atlantic, and Southeastern United States • Report to a Senior Estimator

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of construction estimating experience • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Engineering or Management, or equivalent work experience preferred • Eligible to work in the United States • Excellent estimating, communication, financial analysis, budgeting, purchasing, negotiation, and computer skills • Expertise with Microsoft Office Suite • Bluebeam and Premier experience is a plus • Life Sciences or manufacturing facility project experience, or similar, preferred • Experience with Lean Construction Practices is a plus • Reliable transportation • Clean driving record and valid driver’s license required when driving on company business • Properly maintained employee-owned vehicle and state-minimum auto liability insurance when driving on company business • Adherence to ALLY employment and corporate policies • Ability to meet the listed job duties and deadlines • Respectful interaction with employees, owners, consultants, subcontractors, and the general public • Team-oriented approach • Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including sitting for long periods, walking, climbing stairs and ladders, and occasionally lifting up to 20 pounds
