📋 Description

• Apply computer vision, including convolutional neural networks (CNNs) and vision transformers (ViTs), to improve degraded imagery/video feeds during lunar landing caused by plume surface interaction effects • Iterate designs based on feedback from the engineering team, including GN&C, mechanical, and flight test teams • Produce engineering drawings and configuration-controlled CAD packages for internal design reviews • Develop reports, presentations, and other documentation with clear comments and guidance • Attend meetings, teleconferences, and workshops as needed

🎯 Requirements

• Progress toward an undergraduate or graduate degree in a relevant technical area, such as physics, computer science, or engineering • Working knowledge and application of CNNs/ViTs to image dehazing using PyTorch • Working knowledge of PSI scattering physics • Programming experience in C/C++, Python, and Julia • Presentation skills, including creating and clearly sharing PowerPoint presentations • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Ability to articulate design choices to engineers and project management personnel • Ability to create clear assembly instructions • Available to work at NASA Langley Research Facility in Hampton, Virginia or remotely • US citizenship or permanent US residency required due to ITAR/EAR restrictions
