📋 Description

• Provide expert-level consultation on computational aerothermodynamics methodologies, physics-based modeling, and simulation strategies • Advise on applying and integrating machine learning algorithms, including surrogate modeling, physics-informed neural networks, and data-driven turbulence modeling, into CFD and aerothermodynamic workflows • Evaluate and provide feedback on high-performance physical model and numerical method architecture • Assist engineering teams with strategic roadmapping and identification of emerging M&S and computational physics techniques • Serve as a sounding board for senior engineers and developers • Help troubleshoot complex physical and algorithmic challenges

🎯 Requirements

• Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a strictly related computational discipline • Minimum of 5 years of active, post-Ph.D. professional experience focused on computational aerothermodynamics, modeling and simulation, and machine learning • Deep knowledge of hypersonic and supersonic flows, high-temperature gas dynamics, and advanced computational fluid dynamics • Proven application of machine learning, deep learning, or advanced statistical modeling to complex fluid dynamics or thermodynamic problems • Exceptional ability to distill complex theoretical concepts into actionable engineering guidance • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residence required • Preferred: familiarity with high-performance software architecture and robust C++ CFD libraries • Preferred: experience with GPU acceleration and parallel programming models such as OpenMP, CUDA, and Kokkos • Preferred: deep knowledge of high-enthalpy flow physics, thermal radiation, chemical kinetics, and transport processes • Preferred: peer-reviewed publications in relevant aerospace, physics, or computational science journals
