• Serve as a primary scientific and clinical resource for Opinion Leaders, community healthcare providers, and Population Health Decision Makers • Execute Amgen Medical and product strategy under MSL and Medical Leadership direction • Conduct peer-to-peer scientific engagement with Respiratory, Gastroenterology, Allergy, and ENT providers • Prioritize engagement based on local patient pathways, referral networks, scientific opportunity, and indication-expansion readiness • Travel 60–70% or more for territory management, provider engagement, conferences, workshops, and company meetings • Engage clinical investigators and sites in support of the therapeutic-area pipeline • Communicate clinical, outcomes, economic, and other scientific data to Population Health Decision Makers • Connect external and internal stakeholders to expand Amgen’s reach and patient access • Conduct focused, balanced, and compliant scientific exchanges • Support Amgen-sponsored research and potentially serve as a study lead • Liaise with potential investigators in non-sponsored clinical research • Provide field observations and insights to internal stakeholders • Lead and support congress activities • Support speaker training and ensure speakers are updated on new data • Lead or participate in project teams supporting MSL strategies and tactics • Coordinate compliantly with other Amgen field roles sharing customers • Complete administrative responsibilities and training, including Veeva/ALIGN CRM, expense reports, and compliance modules • Maintain and improve clinical and scientific expertise based on current data and healthcare trends
• Doctorate degree OR Master’s degree and 3 years of Medical Affairs experience OR Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of Medical Affairs experience • Pharm.D., Ph.D., M.D. or D.O. preferred; other doctoral degrees considered • 1+ years Medical Affairs experience preferred • 4 or more years in a medically related field, including 1 year focused on clinical practice, clinical research, or medical research preferred • Post-doctoral training, residencies, or fellowships may count as medically related experience • Current experience in Scientific Affairs or Medical Affairs at a biotech or pharmaceutical company preferred • Respiratory, Gastroenterology, and/or Inflammation expertise preferred • Experience with designated territory preferred • Ability to travel 60–70% or more for territory management, provider engagement, conferences, workshops, and company meetings • Strong relationship-building and communication skills • Ability to communicate scientific data accurately, objectively, and compliantly • Sponsorship is not guaranteed • Must comply with applicable MSL standards, training, administrative, and company requirements
