• Develop programs, activities, and relationships to advance the value and clinical knowledge of Amgen products with the payer community • Provide payer and formulary support through value and medical presentations focused on therapeutic and economic outcomes and product utilization • Participate in clinical policy discussions involving evidence-based medicine, clinical guidelines, and prior authorization • Identify, develop, and maintain collaborative relationships with payer, policy, IDN, and health economics and outcomes research opinion leaders • Identify speaker opportunities and concepts and letters of intent for investigator-supported economics, humanistic outcome, and non-registration clinical studies • Provide internal stakeholders with feedback on customer trends in interpreting and using value evidence, reimbursement, and payer policy • Provide complex value-based technical information, including medical education, health outcomes, pharmacoeconomics information and models, and research protocol opportunities • Represent Amgen Scientific Affairs to designated payer and select IDN accounts • Represent Amgen to designated health economics and outcomes research thought leaders for Global Health Economics and the Center for Observational Research • Foster scientific information exchange regarding reimbursement and coverage policy between the medical community and Amgen • Collect and report competitive intelligence within Amgen guidelines • Manage internal relationships, budgets, and travel and entertainment expenses within guidelines • Conduct assigned duties within Amgen compliance guidelines
• Doctorate degree and 2 years of Medical Affairs experience, or Master’s degree and 4 years, or Bachelor’s degree and 6 years, or Associate’s degree and 10 years, or high school diploma/GED and 12 years • Preferred Pharm.D., Ph.D., M.D., or D.O. • Five years of biotech industry experience working directly with U.S. payer accounts preferred • CV, metabolic, inflammation, bone, neuro-oncology therapeutic-area expertise preferred • Deep knowledge of managed markets, the U.S. reimbursement landscape, pharmacoeconomics, population health, and broad healthcare trends • Experience in patient access in U.S. and/or global markets • Project management experience within a biopharmaceutical company • Strong advocacy, communication, and team cohesion skills • Critical thinking, analytical, and project management skills • Ability to lead and manage projects from concept to completion • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, active listening, and relationship management skills • Ability to interface effectively with all levels, including senior management • Ability to influence others while fostering a value-based environment of dedication and fairness • Ability to understand, plan, and navigate a matrix and sometimes ambiguous environment • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and effectively • Creativity and foresight in anticipating and solving complex project issues • Sponsorship for this role is not guaranteed
