📋 Description

• Design and develop crane systems, components, and assemblies using SolidWorks • Use automated 3D models and adapt models for project drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and project management teams to meet customer needs and company design requirements • Participate in design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives • Ensure designs meet industry standards, safety regulations, and American Equipment standards • Assist with technical and engineering documents as needed • Interact with design professionals, customers, and suppliers to engineer projects • Assist with project technical drawings, calculations, and submittals • Execute moderate to complex 3D design projects • Design, model, size, and specify components; create detailing and bills of materials • Assist with submittal and fabrication drawings, bills of materials, spare parts lists, operation and maintenance manuals, and as-built drawings • Perform field surveys, fabrication shop inspections, and quality checks as needed • Learn, utilize, and implement continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean, TOC, 6S, APICS, and 80/20 • Direct or execute corrective action for shop problems and perform root cause analysis • Follow ISO quality control procedures • Scan, file, and save job documents • Keep accurate time for each job • Perform other responsibilities assigned by the Design Manager and Lead Designer

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in crane design or heavy equipment industries • SolidWorks Professional Certification (CSWP) required • Certified SolidWorks Expert (CSWE) preferred • Experience with PDM and part creation • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, materials, and fabrication processes • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail • Effective communication and teamwork abilities • Legacy AutoCAD utilization • In-depth understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing • Understanding of basic engineering principles • Familiarity with CMAA, ANSI/ASME, OSHA specifications and requirements • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software • Bachelor’s degree, Associate degree, or Technical certificate • Proof of right to lawfully work in the United States required • Ability to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
