📋 Description

• Oversee the import process directly or through direct reports • Ensure compliance with U.S. and foreign government laws and regulations • Guide customers through customs requirements and processes • Prepare and submit customs documents • Determine tariff and duty payments • Track shipments and classify shipments using the tariff coding system • Recommend routing and handling for customer exports and imports • Prepare bills of lading, dock receipts, licenses, and consulate documents • Resolve customer problems accurately and professionally • Help importers and exporters understand and meet federal trade rules and regulations • Work with sales to pursue new leads and discuss and sell services to current clients • Work with Operations and Customs to resolve issues • Operate the office when the manager is absent • Provide instructions to direct reports, assign duties, and review work • Assist subordinates with departmental work • Stay current on customs and company procedure changes • Perform additional duties assigned by management

🎯 Requirements

• Must be a Licensed Customs Broker • 5+ years of Licensed Customs Broker experience working with a broker • Experience with wine imports (preferred) • Monday through Friday, 8:00AM to 5:00PM Central Standard Time schedule • Ability to prepare and submit customs documents • Knowledge of tariff and duty payments and tariff coding/classification • Knowledge of U.S. and foreign government laws and regulations • Ability to prepare bills of lading, dock receipts, licenses, and consulate documents • Ability to provide compliant government forms and information • Ability to guide importers and exporters regarding federal trade rules and regulations • Ability to provide written and oral instructions, assign duties, and review work for accuracy
