📋 Description

• Perform mechanical service, equipment installation verification, checkout, startup, troubleshooting, repair, welding, and fabrication on ANDRITZ equipment at customer facilities and in-house • Fabricate, modify, repair, and rebuild structural steel, mechanical components, and customer-owned equipment • Inspect, fit, align, assemble, and repair components using blueprints, fabrication drawings, weld symbols, and technical specifications • Coordinate field service and repair activities with technical personnel and customers • Perform field welding, maintenance, and emergency repairs during installations, outages, startups, and service calls • Ensure work meets company, customer, quality, and safety standards, including PPE and hot work requirements • Maintain welding, fabrication, and service equipment and organized work areas • Prepare service reports, repair documentation, and supporting records for project tracking and billing • Assist with spare parts recommendations, technical support, inventory planning, and repair services • Support training and development of service technicians • Perform in-house repair work and new equipment assembly • Maintain rental/pilot units and assist with spare parts, equipment, repair orders, and test trials • Perform quality control procedures and inspections on subcontracted and vendor items • Travel up to 85% annually

🎯 Requirements

• Good mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication specifications • Basic/proficient knowledge of MIG, TIG, Stick (SMAW), and Flux-Core welding • Knowledge of metal cutting, fitting, grinding, and assembly practices • Mechanical and process knowledge of Andritz-manufactured equipment • Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel skills • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, welding/fabrication equipment, and precision measuring instruments • Experience performing welding repairs and equipment modifications in industrial environments • Ability to identify, order, and manage materials, welding consumables, gases, and tooling • Knowledge of safe handling, storage, and transportation of compressed gas cylinders and welding equipment in compliance with OSHA and company safety requirements • Welding certifications (AWS or equivalent) a plus • Ability to lift a minimum of 75 pounds • Ability to work in confined spaces, climb ladders/scaffolding/elevated structures, and work in varying environmental conditions • Ability to wear required PPE for extended periods
