• Hire, lead and retain a team of Account Executives to meet or exceed sales forecasts while following compliance expectations • Develop regional and territory business plans based on revenue goals, marketing plans, and required competencies and capabilities • Review and analyze area performance metrics to identify trends and opportunities • Develop training materials, workshops, and coaching frameworks with Sales Strategy and Training • Develop Key Opinion Leaders within the area with Marketing and Field Development • Establish call plans, targets, incentives, data collection, and performance measurement with Field Operations • Collaborate with Marketing, Channel and Reimbursement, Patient Support Services, Business Operations, Medical Affairs, Legal, Compliance, and other stakeholders • Conduct field visits and regional team meetings to align teams, monitor execution, identify issues and opportunities, and define actions • Develop customer-support programs with the US Marketing team • Provide competitive intelligence and develop market insights and solutions • Define sales excellence metrics and monthly dashboards • Ensure tactics and operations meet legal, regulatory, and compliance standards • Perform other duties as assigned or requested
• Bachelor's degree required • Advanced degree in business or science preferred • 10+ years of demonstrated success in rare disease or specialty pharmaceutical sales required • 3+ years in a people leadership role strongly preferred • Experience in Rheumatology, Nephrology, and/or Neurology strongly preferred • Product launch experience is a plus, including working knowledge of government and commercial payers • Understanding and experience working with in-house patient support services required • Familiarity with relevant legal and regulatory pharmaceutical industry requirements • Experience leading and executing area-level business planning activities • Understanding of patient services and specialty channel distribution preferred • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed for physician or patient events • Must reside within the geography and manage a multi-state territory with a diverse customer base • Driver's license required • Overnight travel required, ranging from 50%-85% depending on geography and business needs
