📋 Description

• Contact patients’ insurance carriers to verify coverage for prescribed therapy • Obtain authorization for services from patients’ insurance carriers • Communicate with pharmacy, nursing, and billing departments regarding patient insurance benefits • Submit insurance verification forms and authorizations • Participate in daily patient rounds to determine ongoing care needs • Track authorizations and obtain reauthorizations as needed • Obtain clinical documentation and/or physicians’ letters of medical necessity as required • Complete data entry in the Specialty Pharmacy Business Operating system • Prepare patient start-of-care documentation • Provide financial counseling to patients and/or representatives • Assist with upfront collection of patient balances, deductibles, and coinsurance • Electronically store patient information and emails in the Electronic Document Management system • Assist with other projects assigned by the Intake Manager and Senior Management

🎯 Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent • 2 to 4 years experience in insurance reimbursement • 1 to 2 years experience in home care/home infusion reimbursement • A strong understanding of the different types of insurance plans • Good communication skills • Organizational skills • Self-motivated worker • Computer literate
