📋 Description

• Own and operate Arthrex’s Engineering AI platforms, ensuring security, governance, cost efficiency, and reliable operation • Define and enforce usage policies, acceptable-use standards, and access controls across Engineering AI tools • Implement and maintain security controls, monitor data-exposure risks, and support security audits and access reviews • Establish controls for agentic AI workflows, including agent identity, scoped permissions, and audit logging • Ensure AI integrations align with engineering architecture and security standards • Evaluate new AI tooling and maintain connector and integration design consistency • Manage user provisioning, repository management, platform configuration, and connector integrity • Track and optimize AI platform spend; build cost-visibility dashboards and spending controls • Monitor platform health, usage, adoption, model-call volumes, latency, and error rates • Maintain audit-ready governance, compliance, runbook, architecture, and integration documentation • Communicate AI use-case wins and gaps to leadership and translate adoption data into business-impact narratives • Serve as the primary escalation point for platform issues and manage vendor relationships • Support engineer onboarding and internal adoption by creating enablement materials • Design and improve security architecture for product components and functional systems • Develop threat scenarios and responses for vulnerabilities • Maintain design history files and follow Arthrex design-control procedures • Determine security-testing needs and initiate testing • Provide technical support to Regulatory, Marketing, Product Management, Software Engineering, Legal, Compliance, Privacy, and Information Security teams • Support surgeon and distributor customers by explaining security-focused product aspects during sales processes • Report project progress and status • Travel as required, including possible international travel

🎯 Requirements

• 5 years of related experience required, preferably in platform engineering, software/ML engineering, or software engineering toolchain administration • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Engineering (Mechanical, Biomedical, Electrical or Software Engineering), Computer Science, Information Security, or Cybersecurity • Hands-on experience administering AI platforms such as Anthropic Claude, OpenAI ChatGPT, Google Gemini, Cognition Devin, Perplexity, or similar • Experience building applications, analytics pipelines, or security tooling using agentic software development processes • Experience managing SSO, RBAC, and API security for SaaS or cloud platforms • Experience with connector and integration management using REST APIs, webhooks, Azure Logic Apps, GitHub Actions, or similar • Scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell • Knowledge of system and software development processes and lifecycles • Knowledge of application security best practices • Knowledge of FDA and ISO guidelines for medical-device development • Experience leading strategic discussions addressing business and technical risks • Proficiency in threat-scenario development and risk-mitigation techniques • Proficiency in privacy-by-design principles • Familiarity with AI governance frameworks and responsible AI practices, including NIST AI RMF and ISO 42001 (preferred) • Familiarity with agentic AI concepts, agent identity, scoped permissions, secure agent orchestration, prompt injection vectors, runtime security, and guardrail design (preferred) • Familiarity with LLM observability and prompt-governance tools such as LangSmith, Helicone, Weights & Biases, and OpenTelemetry (preferred) • Familiarity with AI tooling spend management, API usage-cost tracking, license optimization, and usage-based billing (preferred)
