📋 Description

• Manage Ashby’s three Data Analysts: two core analysts and one Revenue Operations analyst • Help identify, assess, and hire future analyst-team members • Improve how the Data team prioritizes, reviews, shares knowledge, maintains quality, and collaborates • Lead the transition from broad shared context toward meaningful specialization as Ashby grows • Help the Data team evaluate and adopt relevant AI tools, workflows, and partnerships • Remain hands-on with analytical work as a player-coach • Guide analytical quality and help analysts solve difficult problems • Triage standardized data requests, assess underlying needs, and determine whether work should be handled quickly or become a structured project • Communicate clearly, assess capacity honestly, prioritize thoughtfully, and make deliberate choices about work not to do • Contribute to dbt models and metric definitions, conduct deep analysis, build dashboards and internal data products, and collaborate with company partners • Help meet growing demand for data while applying principled judgment about when and how much analysis is needed • Extend open access to data throughout the company with appropriate consideration

🎯 Requirements

• Exceptional analytical judgment • Ability to produce and evaluate transparent, rigorous analysis • Strong visual and written communication skills • Deep hands-on SQL experience • Working fluency with dbt-style data modeling, cloud data warehouses, and BI tools • Experience leading, managing, or functionally managing data practitioners in a high-growth company • Demonstrated judgment, coaching, hiring, and team-leadership abilities; formal people-management experience is valuable but not required • Product-manager-like ability to identify core needs, understand users and business context, and turn ambiguous questions into useful work • Pragmatic and intellectually flexible approach to data and decision-making • Preference for simplicity over complexity • Experience in a growth-stage, product-oriented technology company • Comfort working hands-on across the analytical data stack, from modeling through analysis and dashboards • Fluency with SQL in a modern data warehouse is essential
