• Serve as a dedicated representative of the ASPCA at Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine • Stay informed about ASPCA student externship opportunities and resources • Build and nurture relationships with veterinary medicine students and campus student groups • Act as a resource regarding ASPCA work, veterinary training externships, resources, and career pathways • Liaise with the ASPCA Campus Relations Senior Manager regarding campus events and collaboration opportunities • Assist with logistical planning and execution of campus and student-group events • Present opportunities to student groups and promote upcoming events • Develop written communications about the ASPCA and upcoming events • Maintain academic excellence and focus on education • Abide by school rules and policies
• Currently enrolled as a veterinary medical student at Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine • In good academic standing • Strong belief in the Mission and Core Values of the ASPCA • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to build relationships with peers • Active membership in at least one student group related to the core work of the ASPCA • Not currently a student ambassador for another veterinary or animal welfare organization, non-profit, or company • Ability to dedicate an average of 3 hours a week during the semester • Ability to work independently (self-starter) • High-level of maturity and professionalism • Access to a computer for virtual meetings and email correspondence • Ability to temporarily store informational and promotional items on campus • English (required) • High School Diploma (Required)
• Flexible Schedule with an average of 3 hours per week (~48 hours per semester) • SAVMA Reimbursement: Attend the annual SAVMA Symposium and receive up to $1,000 reimbursement for travel, lodging, and food costs • Gain Valuable Experience by developing leadership, communication, networking, and advocacy skills that will enhance your career in veterinary medicine • Access Resources such as, ASPCA educational materials, webinars, possibility to tour and meet with our medical staff at the ASPCA Cruelty Recovery Center, and professional networking opportunities in animal welfare • Potential to earn up to $1,000 per semester based on your commitment
