📋 Description

• Serve as a dedicated representative of the ASPCA at North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine • Stay informed about all student externship opportunities and resources offered by the ASPCA • Build and nurture relationships with fellow veterinary medicine students and student groups on campus • Act as a resource for fellow students seeking information about the ASPCA, veterinary training externship opportunities, resources, and future career pathways • Act as a point of contact and liaison regarding upcoming campus events and collaboration opportunities • Assist in logistical planning and execution of on-campus events and activities with student groups • Present opportunities to student groups and promote upcoming events • Develop written communications about the ASPCA and upcoming events for students • Maintain academic excellence and focus on education • Abide by school rules and policies

🎯 Requirements

• In good academic standing • Strong belief in the Mission and Core Values of the ASPCA • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to build relationships with peers • Active membership in at least one student group related to the core work of the ASPCA (e.g., shelter medicine, animal welfare, DEI-focused group, forensics, etc.) • Not currently a student ambassador for another veterinary or animal welfare organization, non-profit, or company • Ability to dedicate an average of 3 hours a week during the semester to fulfilling the responsibilities of an ASPCA Student Ambassador • Ability to work independently (self-starter) • High-level of maturity and professionalism • Access to a computer for virtual meetings and email correspondence • Ability to temporarily store informational and promotional items to be passed out on campus to CVM peers • English (required) • Currently enrolled as a veterinary medical student at North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine • High School Diploma (Required) • Preference given to candidates in their 1st through 3rd years of education
