• Oversee affordable housing compliance across an assigned portfolio • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and agency regulations and company policies • Monitor regulatory changes and share updates and best practices with the Compliance Department • Complete accurate quarterly and annual reporting within deadlines • Maintain SharePoint workbooks, compliance trackers, and department resources • Perform peer reviews of manager and Assistant Property Manager certifications • Provide compliance guidance and technical expertise to Compliance Managers and operational teams • Prepare pre-onsite documentation for agency file audits and support agency audit preparation • Assist with property visits, agency inspections, corrective action responses, and resolution of complex compliance issues • Report significant audit findings and compliance deficiencies to the Vice President of Compliance • Communicate with Compliance staff, Regional Management, syndicators, clients, operational leaders, and corporate partners • Participate in client strategy discussions and conduct meetings with compliance staff and leadership • Mentor Compliance Managers and compliance professionals; identify training opportunities and share advanced training • Develop action plans for non-compliant properties with the Vice President of Compliance • Anticipate compliance risks, recommend solutions, and independently resolve complex issues • Coach less experienced Compliance Managers on problem-solving techniques • Fill in for other Compliance Managers as needed and maintain an up-to-date Outlook calendar
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred • Significant experience in affordable housing compliance, property management, or a related field • Thorough knowledge of affordable housing programs, regulations, and agency requirements • Advanced understanding of affordable housing compliance programs and regulations • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Excellent organizational and time management skills • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet strict deadlines • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities • Ability to build collaborative relationships across departments and with external stakeholders • Proficiency with property management software and Microsoft Office applications • Ability to work independently while providing leadership and guidance to others • Ability to work in a standard office environment with extended periods of sitting and computer use • Occasional travel to properties, client meetings, and training events may be required • Safety-sensitive position that may be subject to additional compliance requirements
