📋 Description

• Build AirHub, a modern platform replacing eleven legacy EPA systems • Deliver features and fixes from understanding the need through implementation, testing, and release support • Develop services, APIs, integrations, and application features • Investigate legacy databases, write SQL, and build or improve data migration and validation routines • Work directly with business stakeholders to clarify workflows, business rules, and successful outcomes • Troubleshoot issues, add meaningful tests, and maintain code and documentation • Participate in mob and pair programming • Review code, share knowledge, and help unblock delivery • Work closely with technical leads and other engineers to deliver software supporting EPA's environmental mission

🎯 Requirements

• Substantial experience building and maintaining production software, with examples of work carried through to delivery • Strong programming and debugging skills • Experience with APIs, relational databases, and automated testing • Practical SQL skills • Comfort investigating how data flows through an application • Ability to learn unfamiliar code and tools • Ability to work through ambiguity and make sensible decisions about scope and implementation • Clear communication with technical and non-technical colleagues • Willingness to ask questions, share progress, and surface blockers early • Comfort taking ownership while collaborating closely and contributing beyond a narrow specialty • Experience with or ability to work with Node.js, TypeScript, React, PostgreSQL, Kafka, and AWS; experience with every tool is not required
