📋 Description

• Lead and own AeroVironment’s overall compliance program, including the ethics program and oversight of compliance activities • Set short-term priorities and long-term compliance strategy to identify and mitigate compliance risks • Chair the Compliance Council and serve on the Enterprise Risk Committee • Provide compliance guidance and coaching to business units and functional areas • Foster a culture of integrity and ethical behavior • Conduct compliance risk assessments and coordinate corrective actions • Improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the compliance program • Provide strategic support for compliance audits • Conduct investigations with subject matter experts and the Legal Department • Manage corrective action plans and remediation • Ensure documentation and recordkeeping meet regulatory requirements • Develop, implement, and enforce compliance policies and procedures • Own company compliance training programs and report training metrics • Provide periodic compliance-program reports to the executive team, Board of Directors, and committees • Monitor regulatory changes and update internal policies and procedures accordingly • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited 4-year college or university required • Juris Doctor (JD) or advanced degree preferred • 20 years of compliance, legal, or regulatory experience in the U.S. defense industry • Demonstrated leadership and team management experience • Active Top Secret//SCI clearance required • Ability to travel to company offices across the U.S. and internationally • U.S. Citizen required • Must qualify as a U.S. person under ITAR/EAR or be eligible for export-license approval • Strong knowledge of SOX, FAR/DFARS, anti-corruption laws, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, False Claims Act, Truth in Negotiations Act, CMMC, ITAR, and EAR • Extensive experience supporting a global compliance function, preferably at a U.S. publicly traded Department of Defense contractor • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Ability to communicate effectively with personnel at all organizational levels, including executive leadership and the Board of Directors • Ability to work autonomously while coordinating with in-house counsel, functional teams, and leadership • Ability to develop and execute complex strategies aligned with business objectives • Experience cultivating relationships with regulators, compliance professionals, and senior leaders • Superior organizational skills and attention to detail • Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and interpersonal skills • Demonstrated cross-functional collaboration experience • Ability to sit, stand, stoop, reach, lift up to 10 lbs., bend, and use a computer
