📋 Description

• Research legal requirements determining who can vote in different types of elections • Source maps through online research, outreach to government offices, or georeferencing • Create new shapefiles • Test and format files to meet Ballotpedia database requirements • Add election boundaries to the Ballotpedia database and perform tests • Support Ballotpedia’s sample ballot lookup app, which helps voters see upcoming elections for their address • Complete onboarding similar to full-time Ballotpedia employees • Meet one-on-one weekly with a team member to coordinate tasks

🎯 Requirements

• GIS experience, including working with shapefiles, formatting, and georeferencing, using tools such as ArcGIS or QGIS • Research and data entry experience • Attention to detail in following instructions • Well-functioning computer with Internet access • Some familiarity with Google Applications (Gmail, Google Calendar, Drive, and more) is helpful • Current address included in résumé or cover letter • Résumé and cover letter submitted in PDF format • Cover letter stating interest in the GIS Analyst internship and what the applicant hopes to learn • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. if hired
