📋 Description

• Research reliable election information sources and conduct outreach to gather official election documents for local contests • Process and ingest election and candidate data into Ballotpedia’s database using automated tools and manual review • Monitor changes to election schedules and documentation • Maintain and improve databases of sources and research processes • Review data for accuracy and completeness and make corrections according to Ballotpedia’s standards • Build knowledge of state and local election practices across assigned jurisdictions • Research election laws and other relevant electoral topics • Identify opportunities and implement workflows to improve local election coverage • Improve access to Ballotpedia’s local election coverage on-site • Promote Ballotpedia’s local election coverage • Report to the Local Expansion Managing Editor

🎯 Requirements

• Passion for elections, election and voter information, and politics • Commitment to Ballotpedia’s neutral, fact-based, objective coverage • Excellent research skills • Ability to locate online and direct outreach sources and record information in an organized, concise manner • Resourcefulness, curiosity, and ability to investigate information outside existing processes • Exceptional attention to detail • Ability to understand complex processes and consistently follow instructions • Ability to summarize complex concepts, difficult text, and detailed structures accurately and concisely • Critical thinking skills • Ability to understand varied source structures and apply general categories and logical statements • Ability to collaborate, communicate progress, share discoveries, and coordinate research efforts • Ability to receive and implement critical feedback • Proficiency with Google Chrome, Google Docs, Google Sheets, or similar tools • Interest in or experience using AI tools to increase productivity • Computer with Internet access • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.; Ballotpedia participates in E-Verify
