📋 Description

• Design, implement, and administer Microsoft SQL Server environments on-premises and/or in the cloud • Work with on-premises SQL, Azure SQL, and Managed Instance • Manage large terabyte databases • Develop, optimize, and maintain complex T-SQL code, including stored procedures, functions, views, triggers, and indexes • Perform advanced query tuning and execution plan analysis • Monitor database health, capacity, and performance using native and third-party tools • Implement and manage high availability and disaster recovery solutions, including Always On • Set up and administer SQL clusters and Always On Availability Groups • Manage and implement Change Data Capture • Manage backup, restore, and recovery strategies and perform regular disaster recovery testing • Ensure database security through role-based access, encryption, auditing, and compliance controls • Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and resolve performance bottlenecks • Automate administrative tasks using T-SQL, SQL Agent jobs, and PowerShell • Collaborate with developers on database design and coding best practices • Support application releases, schema changes, and data migrations with minimal downtime • Handle sensitive data and remove data from lower environments • Manage auditing solutions such as SQL Audit, Extended Events, or custom monitoring accounts and user access • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of hands-on SQL Server DBA experience • Senior-level T-SQL skills, including query optimization, indexing strategies, and complex joins • Deep understanding of SQL Server internals, including locking, blocking, tempdb, memory, and I/O • Strong experience with performance tuning and monitoring • Experience with SQL Server versions 2016 and above • Solid knowledge of backup/restore, HA/DR, and capacity planning • Experience supporting large, high-transaction databases • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills • Excellent communication and documentation abilities • Experience with Azure SQL Database, Managed Instance, or SQL Server on Azure VM preferred • PowerShell scripting for SQL Server automation preferred • Exposure to DevOps/CI-CD pipelines for database deployments preferred • Experience with data migration and upgrade projects preferred
