• Support Radiology Scheduling as a Patient Access Representative • Register patients presenting for visits and explain the registration process • Process patient co-payments, co-insurance, deductibles, balances, and reconcile the cash drawer • Assist patients with kiosk check-in • Complete Medicare Secondary Payer Questionnaires and adjust coverage accordingly • Obtain and process signatures and required registration documents • Counsel patients regarding non-covered services, ABNs, consents, and waivers • Monitor the waiting area and support an efficient, pleasant registration flow • Respond to patient concerns and potential safety issues • Maintain an orderly registration desk and secure confidential information • Schedule, reschedule, and cancel appointments using calls, digital messages, orders, work queues, questionnaires, and searches • Apply clinical department scheduling protocols and escalate issues when necessary • Capture and verify physician, insurance, demographic, and contact information • Communicate appointment and patient-care issues to Patient Access management • Follow confidentiality and equipment-security guidelines while working remotely • Maintain productivity, quality, and accuracy and communicate regularly with the Supervisor and Manager • Complete pre-registration, guarantor assignment, insurance verification, and financial clearance activities • Advise patients of financial responsibility and schedule Financial Counseling appointments when needed
• High school degree or equivalent required • Associate’s degree preferred • 1-3 years related work experience • Experience with computer systems required, including web-based applications and some Microsoft Office applications, which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Access • Able to work successfully in a fast-paced, multi-task environment, with some independent decision-making • Able to process electronic information and data accurately and efficiently • Call Center and/or telephone customer service experience preferred • Strong typing skills, 40+ wpm preferred • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred • Bilingual written and verbal communication skills preferred • Familiarity with EHR software preferred
