📋 Description

• Install, configure, patch, and upgrade Oracle databases (19c and later) across development, test, and production environments • Plan and execute Oracle database migrations from on-premise data centers to the cloud • Create migration runbooks, cutover plans, and post-migration validation processes • Tune database and SQL performance using AWR, ASH, execution plans, indexing, and memory and storage configuration • Design and maintain backup, recovery, and high availability using RMAN, Data Guard, and RAC • Test disaster recovery on a regular schedule • Secure databases according to NIST SP 800-53 controls and DISA STIGs • Manage database accounts and roles, auditing, and encryption using TDE • Monitor database health with Oracle Enterprise Manager and cloud monitoring tools • Respond to incidents and lead root cause analysis • Automate routine administration with Bash, Python, and PL/SQL scripts • Support application teams with schema changes, releases, and data fixes through change control • Produce and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and inputs to system security plans • Collaborate with platform engineers, application teams, and cybersecurity staff during CBP's cloud migration

🎯 Requirements

• U.S. citizenship • Able to obtain and maintain a CBP Public Trust background investigation • At least eight (8) years of Oracle database administration experience supporting production systems • Hands-on experience with Oracle 19c, RAC, Data Guard, RMAN, and ASM • Proven performance tuning experience, including SQL tuning and AWR/ASH analysis • Experience migrating Oracle databases between environments, including to the cloud • Working knowledge of Linux/Unix administration and shell scripting • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred; relevant experience is accepted in place of a degree • Able to work remotely on East Coast hours and travel approximately once per quarter • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) desired • AWS certification a plus • Experience with Amazon RDS for Oracle, Oracle on Amazon EC2, AWS Database Migration Service, or Oracle GoldenGate desired • Experience with PostgreSQL or migrating workloads from Oracle to open-source databases desired • Experience supporting DHS or CBP systems, or other federal agencies under an ATO desired • A current DHS Public Trust desired
