📋 Description

• Manage and provide technical support for Mainframe Production Control and batch operations using Computer Associates JobTrac R11 • Schedule, modify, submit, and monitor daily production mainframe jobs • Manage nightly batch schedules and adjust scheduling to optimize mainframe resource utilization • Monitor automated and manually submitted jobs and ensure critical production workloads meet SLAs • Perform daily and weekly batch balancing and production control activities • Modify and troubleshoot JCL • Analyze batch execution issues, abends, delays, and performance problems and identify root causes • Optimize production batch schedules and job runtimes • Support on-demand and immediate-execution batch job scheduling • Provide technical support for batch failures, late critical batches, and production service restoration • Work with mainframe developers on production issues, code reviews, testing, and application fixes • Participate in testing and implementation of new batch processes and application releases • Develop and maintain operational procedures, runbooks, scheduling documentation, and production support documentation • Support application deployments and assist with creating and expanding application environments • Provide technical assistance to programmers and operations personnel • Participate in daily status meetings and provide production status updates • Coordinate with infrastructure, network, customer support, and application development teams to resolve production issues • Support legacy mainframe applications and modernization initiatives

🎯 Requirements

• 14+ years of mainframe / production control / batch operations experience • Strong hands-on experience with Computer Associates JobTrac R11 • Mainframe batch and console operations • z/OS / MVS JCL development, analysis, debugging, and troubleshooting • COBOL and batch/CICS COBOL • VSAM, IMS, CICS, TSO/ISPF • IBM utilities and z/OS programs • JobTrac for z/OS • Batch scheduling, monitoring, dependencies, and production control • On-demand/immediate batch job scheduling • Batch abend analysis and production problem resolution • Complex JCL troubleshooting • REXX development, analysis, and debugging in z/OS environments • FTP, SFTP, and NFTP • Batch SFTP/FTPS processing • IMS utilities, including FileAid for IMS • BPXBATCH processing for remote execution • Mainframe printer assignment and administration • Working knowledge of IPPrintway • Informatica and batch/ETL processing • Experience supporting large-scale enterprise mainframe production environments • Experience working with application development and infrastructure teams • Experience supporting legacy system modernization or mainframe transformation projects • Understanding of production control procedures, change management, and operational standards • Experience creating operational documentation, procedures, and troubleshooting guides • Experience in SLA-driven production environments supporting critical batch workloads
