📋 Description

• Complete comprehensive patient intake for adolescents, including history, risk factors, and eligibility review • Order appropriate labs and review results • Escalate findings outside program guardrails • Meet with patients and families to design individualized care plans • Prescribe and manage GLP-1 therapy when clinically appropriate and within prescriptive authority • Provide holistic care including nutrition and behavioral support • Manage ongoing care through monitoring visits, dose management, side-effect and safety management, and adherence support • Coordinate with physicians, nurse practitioners, registered dietitians, and health coaches • Follow clinical protocols and escalation pathways within the supervising physician arrangement • Surface complex or ambiguous cases to the supervising MD or Physician Lead

🎯 Requirements

• Active, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner (APRN) license in good standing • National board certification appropriate to caring for adolescents, such as FNP-BC/FNP-C or PNP-PC • Active prescriptive authority • Willingness to obtain and maintain licensure and prescriptive authority in states where Balance operates • Willingness to enter into collaborative practice or supervision agreements required by state law • Comfort and credibility caring for adolescents and their families • Interest in adolescent and obesity medicine • Availability of 20–80 hours per month • Strong written communication • Comfort operating in an asynchronous, distributed telehealth care team under physician oversight • Obesity-medicine certification for advanced practice providers or a clear path to gaining it (preferred) • Prior experience prescribing or managing GLP-1 therapy (preferred) • Telehealth experience (preferred) • Experience working with registered dietitians, behavioral health clinicians, and health coaches in a multidisciplinary model (preferred) • Multi-state licensure or willingness to pursue it (preferred) • Bilingual Spanish/English or experience serving linguistically diverse pediatric populations (preferred) • Authorization to work in the United States
