📋 Description

• Complete comprehensive patient intake for adolescents entering the program, including history, risk factors, and eligibility review • Order appropriate labs and review results, escalating findings outside program guardrails • Meet with patients and families to design individualized care plans • Prescribe and manage GLP-1 therapy where clinically appropriate within a holistic nutrition and behavioral-support plan • Manage ongoing care through monitoring visits, dose management, side-effect and safety management, and adherence support • Coordinate with physicians, nurse practitioners, registered dietitians, and health coaches • Follow clinical protocols and escalation pathways • Surface complex or ambiguous cases to the Physician Lead • Carry a panel of Balance families within a pediatric-led adolescent metabolic health program

🎯 Requirements

• MD or DO with active, unrestricted medical license in good standing • Comfort and credibility caring for adolescents and their families • Interest in adolescent and obesity medicine • Willingness to complete light onboarding training in weight/obesity management and GLP-1 therapy • Availability of 20–80 hours per month • Strong written communication • Comfort operating in an asynchronous, distributed telehealth care team • Board certification in Obesity Medicine (ABOM/DABOM), or a clear path to gaining certification (preferred) • Prior experience prescribing or managing GLP-1 therapy (preferred) • Experience delivering care via telehealth (preferred) • Experience working alongside registered dietitians, behavioral health clinicians, and health coaches in a multidisciplinary model (preferred) • Bilingual Spanish/English or experience serving linguistically diverse pediatric populations (preferred) • Must be authorized to work in the United States • Must list the states in which licensed to practice
