• Serve as the key sponsored program financial contact for departmental administrators, principal investigators, and central research administration • Monitor, control, and report on grants and contracts • Analyze accounts and communicate with the BMC research community, sponsors, and central research administration • Perform post-award financial functions, including budget and expense analysis, monthly invoicing, financial reporting, labor distribution changes, and re-budgeting • Review contracts and new awards and provide feedback to Sponsored Programs Administration • Communicate regarding spending versus budget, billed and unbilled amounts, aged receivables, unreconciled accounts, and deficits • Meet regularly with department administrators and principal investigators to review account status • Perform grant closeout functions, including reconciliation, financial reports, final invoicing, purchase order liquidations, carryover, and accounts receivable follow-up • Communicate with sponsors regarding problem resolution, receivables, budget adjustments, and information gathering • Perform assigned department responsibilities such as accounts receivable management, vendor invoices, journal entries, purchase orders, LOC draw preparation, salary approvals, monthly invoices/uploads, and grant-ending notifications • Manage submonitoring and payment of subinvoices • Perform analysis and support ad hoc management projects • Support internal and external sponsor audits by preparing documentation and liaising with department staff
• BS/BA or equivalent work experience preferred, preferably in Accounting, Finance, or Business • High school diploma/GED required • Requires two to five years of relevant work experience • Strong preference for post-award Research Finance experience with grants and contracts • Strong computer skills, including comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel • Strong interpersonal skills • High degree of analytical ability • Effective verbal and written communication • Strong deductive reasoning skills • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Must complete a background check before beginning employment • Must be vaccinated against COVID-19 and flu, and receive a booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine
